Unione Europea: nuovi scenari per un turismo post Covid: sostenibile, inclusivo, di valore

Il turismo è uno dei settori più colpiti dalla pandemia. Impiega circa 27 milioni di persone e rappresenta circa il 10% del PIL dell'UE, ma al momento sono sei i milioni di posti di lavoro a rischio. L'Europa, la prima destinazione turistica mondiale, ha accolto il 66% in meno di turisti internazionali nella prima metà dell'anno e il 97% in meno nella seconda. La pandemia ha modificato le preferenze dei consumatori verso opzioni più verdi e più in contatto con la natura. Per tale ragione, viene chiesta la creazione di una tabella di marcia per sviluppare forme più sostenibili di turismo che siano in grado di ridurre l'impatto ambientale del settore.

Tourism is one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. It employs around 27 million people and represents around 10% of the EU's GDP, but there are currently six million jobs at risk. Europe, the world's leading tourist destination, received 66% fewer international tourists in the first half of the year and 97% fewer in the second. The pandemic has changed consumer preferences for greener options that are more in touch with nature. For this reason, the creation of a roadmap is requested to develop more sustainable forms of tourism that are able to reduce the environmental impact of the sector.
